Create a common item and revision system
Connect room types and areas to item codes, drawing numbers and sample references. Record the date, author and approval status of each revision, including when superseded information is withdrawn. A common register lets design, purchasing, production and site teams identify the same item without relying on informal descriptions or photographs alone.
Confirm measurement responsibilities and datums
For cabinetry, wall panels, door surrounds and headboards, establish finished surfaces, levels, substrate conditions and installation space. Agree who provides dimensions, who verifies them, when measurement can take place and who approves release dimensions. Recheck affected items after site changes instead of assuming an earlier survey still describes the finished room.
Draw the interfaces, not only the elevation
Coordinate sockets, lighting, equipment access, basin cut-outs and stonework boundaries in the developed details. Check door swings, drawer clearance, skirting and corners together. Assign each opening, connection and final junction to a trade. Equipment or architectural elements visible in a reference photograph do not automatically become part of the furniture package.
Review the mock-up as a working room
Review more than colour and appearance. Check table-to-seat relationships, arm clearance, bedside access, cabinet opening, hardware operation and cleaning access. Convert comments into controlled drawing, material and schedule revisions, and agree whether another sample is needed. The approved mock-up should be a repeatable reference for later rooms, rather than an isolated display piece.
Carry approvals through packing and handover
Link production, inspection, packing labels and packing lists to the same area and item codes. Agree inspection criteria, sampling or buyer inspection, batch records and receiving checks in advance. Coordinate unloading, storage, installation responsibilities and protection with the site programme so the release of a production batch matches a usable receiving plan.
